This is a program through the city, county, and the Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP) that helps people find and take advantage of incentives for energy efficiency. Charlottesville City has created Retrofit Mini-Grants that provide rebates for certain energy efficiency measures including:

$1000 for a heat pump

$800 for a heat pump water heater

$500 for attic insulation or foundation insulation

$250 for a home energy assessment

Get started by emailing Rosina Snow at resourcehub@leap-va.org or filling out this form.

If you haven’t already, we highly recommend downloading the MyCville app. Right now, the City is making a huge effort to respond to submissions quickly. In the app you can “Report A Problem” such as: potholes, pedestrian safety concerns, sidewalk blockages, parking violations, and more. Generally, the more people report problems, the more the city will focus on that issue. Past campaigns by the BCNA have resulted in effective traffic calming measures, new flashers for pedestrian crossings, and more.

ReLeaf Cville is rooted in a simple truth: trees save lives—so we save trees.

By focusing on neighborhoods impacted by rising heat as the climate changes, ReLeaf protects the health of our community.

We do this by planting trees, preserving mature trees, and educating the next generation of environmental leaders.
